Cardiovascular Health

Exercise is so important for cardiovascular health. Frequent exercise has repeatedly been demonstrated to significantly reduce cardiovascular mortality and reduce the likelihood of developing cardiovascular disease. As a result of exercise, active individuals have lower blood pressure, higher insulin sensitivity and a better plasma lipoprotein profile. This occurs through strengthening our heart muscle (which allows us to pump out more blood with each beat) and also by releasing molecules that dilate our blood vessels (which allows blood to travel more freely around our body).
If we cut out all the mumbo jumbo, we are basically working at getting your heart super strong so that you can do more in your day without getting as tired. If you play sport, you will definitely be able to run faster for longer too. Sounds pretty good, hey?
There are so many different ways we can program cardiovascular exercise to ensure you enjoy it. Some different ways include:
- Boxing
- Skipping
- Running
- Circuit training
